Ikigai Coffee is Sri Lanka's first personalized coffee subscription service. We deliver freshly roasted specialty coffee beans matched to your taste preferences directly to your door in Colombo. Each month, you receive 250g of premium coffee roasted within 7 days of delivery.
How do I join the waitlist?
Simply fill out our signup form on the homepage with your name, contact details, coffee preferences, and daily consumption habits. We'll contact you within 24 hours to confirm your preferences and add you to our pilot program waitlist.
What information do you need from me?
We ask about your preferred roast level (light, medium, dark), brewing method (espresso, pour-over, French press), flavor preferences, daily coffee consumption, and any specific requirements. This helps us match you with the perfect coffee profile.
Is there a minimum commitment?
No, there's no minimum commitment. You can pause, modify, or cancel your subscription at any time without penalties. We believe in flexibility and building long-term relationships through quality, not contracts.

How much does the subscription cost?
We offer three plans: Balanced Medium (LKR 2,300/month), Italian Bold (LKR 2,500/month), and Sri Lankan Specialty (LKR 2,800/month). All plans include 250g of freshly roasted coffee, free delivery within Colombo, and customer support.
What's included in the price?
Your monthly fee includes 250g of premium specialty coffee, professional roasting, quality packaging with degassing valves, detailed tasting notes, brewing recommendations, free delivery within Colombo, and 24/7 customer support via WhatsApp.
How does pricing compare to buying coffee elsewhere?
Our subscription costs 50-70% less than buying equivalent quality coffee from cafés. Compared to supermarket coffee, while slightly higher in price, you get significantly better quality, freshness (roasted within days vs months), and personalization.
Are there any additional fees?
No hidden fees. The monthly price includes everything: coffee, roasting, packaging, and delivery within Colombo. The only additional cost would be if you request delivery outside our standard Colombo area.
Coffee Quality & Sourcing
How fresh is the coffee?
Our coffee is roasted weekly and delivered within 7 days of roasting. This is significantly fresher than supermarket coffee, which often sits on shelves for 3-6 months. Every bag includes the exact roast date for transparency.
What grade of coffee do you use?
We exclusively use specialty grade coffee beans, which represent the top 10% of global coffee production. These beans are carefully selected for flavor, aroma, and absence of defects, ensuring a superior cup quality.
Where do you source your coffee beans?
We source from a combination of local Sri Lankan plantations (for our Sri Lankan Specialty profile) and internationally renowned coffee regions. All suppliers are vetted for quality, sustainability, and fair trade practices.
Do you offer organic or fair trade options?
Yes, our Sri Lankan Specialty profile includes organic and fair trade certified beans from local plantations. We're committed to supporting sustainable farming practices and fair compensation for coffee farmers.
Delivery & Logistics
Where do you deliver?
Currently, we deliver within Colombo, Sri Lanka. Our pilot program is limited to Colombo to ensure maximum freshness and reliable delivery times. We plan to expand to other areas based on demand and logistics capabilities.
How often is coffee delivered?
Standard delivery is monthly (every 4 weeks). This timing ensures you receive fresh coffee regularly without accumulating too much inventory. You can adjust frequency based on your consumption needs.
What if I'm not home during delivery?
We offer flexible delivery options including scheduled delivery windows, safe drop-off locations, and coordination with building security. We'll work with you to ensure you never miss a delivery.
Can I track my delivery?
Yes, you'll receive tracking information and delivery updates via WhatsApp or SMS. You'll know exactly when your coffee is being roasted, packed, and delivered.
Subscription Management
Can I pause my subscription?
Absolutely! You can pause your subscription for vacations, business trips, or any reason. Just notify us at least 3 days before your next scheduled delivery. Resume anytime with no penalties or fees.
How do I change my coffee preference?
You can change your coffee profile anytime by contacting us via WhatsApp or email. Changes take effect with your next delivery. We encourage trying different profiles to find your perfect match.
What if I want to cancel?
You can cancel your subscription at any time with no cancellation fees or penalties. Simply contact us at least 3 days before your next delivery. We'll also ask for feedback to improve our service.
Can I adjust the delivery frequency?
Yes, you can change from monthly to bi-weekly or every 6 weeks based on your consumption. We're flexible and want to match your actual coffee drinking habits.
Coffee Preparation
What brewing methods do you recommend?
Each coffee profile is optimized for specific brewing methods. Italian Bold works best for espresso and moka pot, Sri Lankan Specialty shines in pour-over and V60, while Balanced Medium is versatile for French press, drip, and milk-based drinks.
Do you provide brewing guides?
Yes! Each delivery includes detailed brewing recommendations, grind size suggestions, water temperature, and brew ratios. We also provide online guides for different brewing methods to help you get the perfect cup.
What grind size should I use?
Grind size depends on your brewing method. We provide specific recommendations with each delivery: fine for espresso, medium for drip/V60, coarse for French press. We recommend grinding just before brewing for maximum freshness.
How should I store the coffee?
Store in the original bag (which has a one-way valve) in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Don't refrigerate or freeze. Coffee stays fresh for 2-4 weeks after the roast date when stored properly.
